Terms of Service

Every piece that leaves this atelier begins with a conversation and ends with something kept. This page sets out the terms under which that exchange takes place — plainly, so there is no ambiguity on either side. If something here is unclear, write to hello@gujewellery.com before placing an order. A piece made for you cannot be unmade.

Who we are

GU Jewellery is operated by GU JEWELLERY PTE. LTD. ("GU," "the Atelier," "we," "us"), registered in Singapore. Our website is gujewellery.com. Our contact address is hello@gujewellery.com.

These terms apply to all orders placed through gujewellery.com, all inquiries that lead to a commission, and all use of this website. Placing an order or submitting an inquiry constitutes acceptance of these terms.

The pieces we sell

GU offers three lines of fine jewellery. Each line operates under different conditions; please read the relevant section before placing an order.

Bespoke Blooms are co-designed commissions. No two are identical. Each piece is built from a conversation, developed through sketches and stone selection, and made to order for one client. Lead time is three to five months from confirmed design to delivery.

Seasonal Blooms are limited edition drops released four times a year in small numbered runs. Where ready stock is available, it ships within the timeframe noted on the product page. Where pieces are made to order following a drop, the lead time is six to eight weeks.

Evergreen Blooms are designs from a small curated library, made to order in the client's choice of metal and stone. Lead time is four to six weeks.

All three lines produce pieces made specifically for the buyer. The implications for cancellation and refunds are set out below.

Pricing and payment

All prices are listed in Singapore dollars unless otherwise stated. Prices are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change. The price confirmed at the time of order is the price charged.

For Bespoke commissions, a deposit is required to begin the work. The deposit amount is confirmed during the inquiry and design process. Payment terms for the balance are communicated before the Making begins.

For Seasonal and Evergreen Blooms purchased through the site, full payment is taken at the time of order.

GU accepts payment methods made available through Shopify Payments and other providers shown at checkout. Payment card details are processed securely by our payment provider and are not stored by GU.

Made to order — what this means

When you place an order with GU, a piece is made for you. Materials are sourced, craftsmen are engaged, and work begins on a piece that cannot be repurposed or resold.

This is not a retail transaction. It is the beginning of a making process. Clients are asked to read and accept this before confirming any order.

Cancellations and refunds

Bespoke Blooms. Once a design is confirmed and the deposit paid, the commission is final. If a client withdraws before the Making stage is confirmed, 50% of the deposit is forfeited. If a client withdraws after the Making stage has been confirmed, the full deposit is forfeited. Any costs incurred beyond the deposit amount at that point remain payable.

Seasonal and Evergreen Blooms. Because every piece is made to order, orders cannot be cancelled once confirmed. Where a piece arrives with a manufacturing defect, GU will assess each case individually and offer either a remake or a refund at its discretion. General wear, damage occurring after delivery, or dissatisfaction with a configurable choice made by the client at the time of order do not constitute a manufacturing defect.

Manufacturing warranty. A six-month manufacturing warranty applies from the date of delivery (the Reveal). Structural defects and craftsmanship failures — a loose prong, a flaw in the metalwork, anything that arose from the making rather than from wear — are covered. General wear, impact damage, stone loss from force, and repairs carried out by a third party are not covered. Unauthorised third-party repair voids the warranty.

Returns. GU does not offer returns, exchanges, or refunds on pieces that have been made to order, except where required by applicable law.

After your bloom arrives

The Annual Refresh. Every GU client is invited to return their piece to the Atelier once a year for cleaning and a prong check. There is no charge for this service.

Repairs. Jewellery is meant to be lived in. Manufacturing concerns are inspected and repaired or replaced at no cost within the warranty period. General restoration — wear from years of use — is facilitated through the Atelier's craftsmen at a fair fee.

Resizing. One complimentary resizing, within one full size up or down, is offered within the first six months of ownership. Resizing beyond this range, or outside the six-month window, is available at a fee. Certain designs — full-eternity bands and some other configurations — cannot be resized; this is advised at the design stage.

Heirloom stones. Where a client provides an external stone for resetting, GU handles it with care but is not liable for the condition or durability of stones sourced outside the Atelier's network. The client assumes all risk for stones provided to the Atelier for resetting.
